Stainless steel is the backbone of every commercial kitchen, but not all grades perform the same. Choosing the right one protects your investment from corrosion and keeps the kitchen food-safe.

SS 304 — the standard choice

SS 304 is food-grade, resists corrosion from most foods and cleaning agents, and is the right grade for work tables, sinks, shelving, hoods and service counters in normal kitchens.

SS 316 — for aggressive environments

  • Coastal locations with salt-laden air.
  • Kitchens that handle heavy salt, brine or acidic marinades.
  • Hospitals and pharma catering with frequent strong sanitising.
  • Dairy and seafood processing where chloride exposure is high.

Where the grade matters most

Wet areas, drainage tables and anything in constant contact with food and water justify the higher grade. Dry storage shelving rarely needs more than SS 304.

Fabrication quality matters as much as grade

Sanitary welding, proper polishing and rounded corners do more for hygiene than upgrading a grade on poor fabrication. We specify both material and finish in every quotation.
